Rasa: The Divine Essence Within

When we start seeking divinity within us, we naturally lean away from seeking it without — through rituals, scriptures, pilgrimage and outer worship. All have their value, according to the needs of the seeker. What we are exploring is an organic shift that happens at some stage in our journey. Far from heresy, this honours the sacred in the highest way — through embodiment. Feeling truth in every cell, in every breath.

We become adept at extracting the pristine essence of all noble teachings, the rasa, and recognising that the Source is our own heart. This recognition is the key that unlocks the floodgates of love within us. We soften to life and everything it brings. And it’s this softness that becomes our greatest strength.

We start seeing clearly beyond appearances, but through eyes of compassion, not fear and judgement. We go our own way but never need anyone else to follow. From where each one stands, they’re seeing exactly what they’re meant to in that moment.

We trust in the wisdom of life to guide everyone fairly, understanding that each individual path is unique. We are able to offer love and kindness while knowing everyone has their own agency — their own timing. There is a certain wisdom in knowing what we shouldn’t take responsibility for.

We are weaned away from the idea of control, understanding it to be an illusion — a mirage of safety that never arrives.

We learn that flying with the winds not only takes less effort, but helps us reach our destination faster, sparing us many needless battles along the way. And though the winds may change, we aren’t surprised or shaken by it — not at our centre, not when the soul has touched Spirit.

What emerges is a sense of relief, the kind one feels when the plane finally lands after gut-wrenching turbulence. Or when you wake up from a seemingly never-ending nightmare, only to find that it was a dream, and you’re actually safe.

You breathe an eternal sigh the moment you realise that you’re loved beyond measure, in a world that may feel barren at times, and this love isn’t something anyone or anything in the universe can withhold from you.

It’s already yours, if you’re willing to look.

After all, the kingdom was always within.
